Wilson Health Information finds Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy customers most highly satisfied for third year in a row. National & Regional Pharmacy Satisfaction Award Winners Announced.

NEW HOPE, PA – (PR NEWSWIRE) – September 19, 2003 – Wilson Health Information, America's leading pharmacy satisfaction research firm, has named the Medicine Shoppe chain of independently owned franchise pharmacies highest rated nationally in customer satisfaction for the third straight year. Among Chain Drug Store customers, Walgreens was highest rated. Supermarket pharmacy shoppers were most satisfied with Publix Supermarket. Discount pharmacy customers were most satisfied with Costco. The top rated Mail/Online Pharmacy was Medco Health Solutions. Detailed results on more than 45 pharmacy issues covering the top 20 pharmacy chains are contained in the newly released 2003 WilsonRx® Pharmacy Satisfaction report.

Regionally, Publix Supermarket was the highest rated in Atlanta and Miami. Giant Food, owned by Ahold, was highest rated In Baltimore. Brooks was best in Boston. Walgreens was top rated pharmacy in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix and San Francisco. In Dallas, Wal-Mart was the highest rated pharmacy. Safeway's pharmacies were top rated in the District of Columbia. CVS was highest in Philadelphia.

“Each pharmacy attracts and satisfies their customers with their own mix of convenience, pricing, store and professional pharmacy services.” said Jim Wilson, President of Wilson Health Information.“For example, Medicine Shoppe’s customers were most likely to have reported that they spoke with a pharmacist when they had their last new prescription filled and spoke with their pharmacist for the longest period of time. Another critical factor is the timeliness of getting prescriptions filled and Medicine Shoppe had the highest percentage of customers who reported that their last new prescription was filled in less than fifteen minutes. Walgreens customers were most satisfied with pharmacy drive through window and convenient store hours. Costco most satisfied with prices. Publix Supermarket pharmacy customers were most satisfied with the convenient location of the pharmacy within the supermarket. Medco Mail Service customers most satisfied with home delivery of prescriptions and useful web site.”

The results are based on responses from 16,102 Pharmacy Customer respondents who filled at least one prescription within the past year.
