NEW HOPE, PA – (PR NEWSWIRE) – April 29, 2002 – Wilson Health Information, LLC today announced results from the 2001 WilsonRx® Survey which identified the pharmacy, pharmacy benefit plan and health insurer with the highest treatment satisfaction scores. The WilsonRx® Survey covered more than 300 topics and the analytical reports provide insight into levels of satisfaction with pharmacy, pharmacy benefit and health insurance related issues as well as treatment satisfaction for specific medical conditions. The 2001 WilsonRx® Treatment Satisfaction award winners are:
Allergy – Safeway, Express Scripts, National Prescription Administrators (NPS) and Harvard Pilgrim
Arthritis – Safeway, NPA and Harvard Pilgrim
Asthma – Safeway, Express Scripts and Health Net
Cholesterol – Target Pharmacy, AdvancePCS and Tufts Health Plan
Depression – Safeway, Merck Medco and Health Partners
Diabetes – Safeway, Aetna US Healthcare and Harvard Pilgrim
Heartburn/Reflux Disease – Medicine Shoppe and Aetna US Healthcare
Hypertension – Medicine Shoppe, NPA and Harvard Pilgrim
Migraine – Kroger, Caremark, Merck Medco and Kaiser
Menopause Symptoms – Rite Aid and Kaiser
“Clearly there are significant differences in treatment satisfaction ratings among customers of each type of health care provider,” commented Jim Wilson, President of Wilson Health Information, LLC. Each provider appears to be targeting different patient populations and have been able to deliver treatment satisfaction scores that are higher than their competitors. For example, among health insurance members, of the 35 conditions rated, Harvard Pilgrim was top rated in ten of the conditions and Oxford Health in eight. Among Pharmacy Benefit Plans users, households using National Prescription Administrators (NPA) reported the highest level of treatment satisfaction for ten conditions and Express Scripts was highest in seven. Among pharmacy customers, Safeway was top rated for ten of the conditions studied and Medicine Shoppe in eight.
